Suffolk Young Farmers Clubs are part of a national organisation of approximately 20,000 members. There are currently have 10 clubs operating throughout Suffolk, with junior clubs as well as senior clubs. Suffolk YFC is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people in the countryside.
Supporting enterprise within the club is important and when Emily McVeigh (Stowmarket Young Farmers Club Social Secretary) launched a new events company and venue on the farm she grew up on, the Young Farmers were keen to get behind her!
Emily (of Elm Occasions) will lead the ball organisation supported by a committee of members from other Suffolk clubs. She is passionate about Young Farmers as it gives young people in rural areas not only a great social life but training, support and education.
This year’s ball will be held on the evening of Friday 29th June, it will celebrate the ‘Best of British’. The fitting theme follows on from the Suffolk Young Farmers Olympic themed annual rally held in celebration of the Diamond Jubilee at the start of June.
For many in the farming community being British is celebrated everyday working on the land, producing great quality crops and food. The ethos of the ball is to use as much British produce as possible. The 3-course meal served at the ball will celebrate the great British menu.
The dress code ‘a hint of British’ will add to the fantastic line up for the evening! Pimm’s served on arrival, delicious meal serving classic British favourites, Agricultural themed cocktails will be served at the bar followed by dancing to the best of British music by a live band!
Tickets are £35 per person for club members and £37 per person for non-members and tables can be booked for groups of 10.
